That interview may take place when the suspect is under arrest or while the suspect attends the interview voluntarily. It is a common misconception that if a suspect is not arrested, being accompanied by a lawyer is less important. Whenever you are interviewed under caution you should have legal representation - even if you believe you are innocent; in fact all the more so.
Police can detain a suspect for up to 24 hours. Occasionally this period can be extended. However it is often the case that the police enquiry takes considerably longer than this. Once the police enquiry has concluded it is usually the case that a prosecution lawyer has to decide whether a criminal prosecution should be commenced.
Criminal cases begin in the magistrates' court and more than 90% conclude there. For a bail application, plea in mitigation or trial, Sonn Macmillan Walker's experienced and tenacious solicitors will support you through the proceedings with proficiency and commitment. Sonn Macmillan Walker has a team of specialist advocates who appear daily at magistrates' courts across London and elsewhere in England and Wales.
The crown court deals with all serious criminal charges and with less serious charges where you have elected trial by jury. The crown court also deals with appeals against decisions of magistrates' courts.
If your case has progressed to the daunting arena of a crown court, your solicitor will guide you through the process by examining all the evidence, instructing experts where appropriate and working with you and your advocate as a team, advising on options and possible outcomes, offering reassurance and confidence.Your lawyer at Sonn Macmillan Walker will prepare your case.

I have been represented by Alex Whitmore Friday the 22/11/2019 5pm at Bethnal Green police station for my second police interview.
It was the worst experience ever I wished she has never turned up.
I never come across a solicitor like that in my life.
She was arguing with me, she had a very bad attitude, I felt like she did not want to be there, did not wanted to listen or taking notice about what I was saying, made me very upset and angry before the police interview failed to give me a proper advice apart from "I advice you not to comment".

Very happy to have used the services of Sonn Macmillan Walkers solicitors. From the beginning we was kept up to date with procedures and with what would happen. Everything was always explained thoroughly and they were always happy to look into any concerns we had. From start to finish which was 8 months, We were very happy with the way it was dealt with by the solicitors. We never had this kinds of situation before in our families or people’s we closest, but during a very stressful period in our families life, my son have been represented by Alex Whitmore and Rachel Hobba. Both were very professional
