From absolute beginners, to those with dance experience all are welcome. Furthermore we take pupils from as young as 6 months right through to adults. The ethos of our school is to provide fun and friendly yet well structured and disciplined classes. As a result we follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus in Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre dance.
Hence all our classes are conducted by fully qualified, professionally trained and CRB checked teachers. Footworks also offer opportunities to dance at local festivals, competitions, award's night and at our bi-annual dance show. Therefore if you are looking for a North London dance school, this is a great place to begin your child's journey through the world of dance.

Melina started dancing at the age of 3 at a local dance school. She gained her ISTD Foundation in Dance instruction, and Certificate in Dance Education in Ballet, Tap and Modern at DS Performing Arts. Since leaving, she has taught at dance schools up and down the country, and choreographed many dance school shows and audition pieces.
Classical Ballet is most popular dance style among young children and is the foundation of all dance styles. Students learn in a calm and friendly environment and are taught the ISTD syllabus by ISTD qualified teachers. Baby ballets students learn the basics by incorporating fun imagery along with the help of props.
Our Footworks Dance Academy Uniform is compulsory and important for many reasons, including helping the students feel part of our school. Baby ballet girls: ISTD sky blue leotard, sky circular chiffon skirt, sky wrap over knit cardigan. Pink ballet socks or tights, pink leather ballet shoes with elastics.
There are three parts to performing arts and Drama or acting is one of those. Drama classes are all about learning to act, communicate and understand others in new ways. It is also a great tool for preparing students to live and work in a world that is increasingly team-orientated. The final string to a performing artists bow is Singing.
We are thrilled to be adding additional classes to the timetable for the upcoming term dates! We've got a new Baby/Pre Primary Tap class on a Monday. Due to popular demand, a Mini Acro class for ages 4-6yrs on a Thursday. Not forgetting about the adults, a new way to get fit for the new year, an Adult Jazz class on a Thursday evening.

My two children have been attending Footworks Dance Academy for the last 8 years. They absolutely love all their classes! They can't wait to go each week. Melina and all the team are so lovely and really inspire my girls.
They've done dance shows, exams and other performances and have even offered Zoom classes over the pandemic. We can't wait to get back hopefully in a few weeks time.

On paper the classes offered were great for my daughter, but unfortunately the team head, Melina refused to offer any refunds for missed classes during the pandemic. Updates were lacking and calls and emails left unanswered. Was still owed two sessions which I never received my money back for as it was a direct payment, if it were a larger amount I'd have chased through the county courts so had no other option but to pull my daughter from these classes given it would likely happen again if further government restrictions stopped classes.
