Working in his father's country butchers in the foothills of the Black Mountains in the small community of Longtown, Neil Powell started his butchery apprenticeship at the age of 5. Our beef cattle are predominantly grass-fed, with a diet that is 100% homegrown on feed derived from Herefordshire pastures some of the richest in the world!
Working in his father's country butchers in the foothills of the Black Mountains in the small community of Longtown Neil Powell started his butchery apprenticeship at the age of 5. This started with the very basics and spent much of his time on the "meat van" with his father delivering bespoke butchery to homes in the rural border communities of Herefordshire & Monmouthshire.
Some of the most breathtaking and quintessentially British countryside can be found in the picturesque counties of Herefordshire and Monmouthshire. Stretching from the epic Brecon Beacons down the Wye Valley and into the Welsh Marches, we are in an area of outstanding natural beauty that is home to rich soil and lush pastures.
Craft butchery is at the foundation of our business and starts with knowledge of the sourcing, how the animal has been fed and farmed but thereafter is the art of cutting the whole carcass. The culmination of this skill is the fresh meat display cut daily, precise cuts, top quality sourcing, being neat and respectful.
The beef carcasses are delivered directly to out licensed meat cutting plant (ref UK4246), inspected, carefully sorted and put into our custom fridges in optimal maturing conditions based around humidity, temperature, airflow and controlling bacterial growth. At around 14 days the carcass is taken from the fridge and expertly cut/broken down by our in house trained craft butchers under controlled processing conditions.

Online boxes ordered have had missing/relpaced items. After the same experience twice I decided to make contact.
Upon enquiry I was told reasonably, they cannot guarantee specifc items advertised in boxes. However the item was a type of steak in a box of different steaks..which buying from a butcher is priced at a premium anyway.
So warning to customers if you are looking to purchase anything specific in a box. Also this experience was then tarnished further by half of the steaks being under the 8oz advertised with packaging on.
Hoped to have a good experience but sadly feel a bit ripped off
