During your first visit, you will be required to complete a medical history questionnaire.
At your initial dental examination you will meet the dentist and dental team, and you can discuss any specific dental problems or questions and treatment options you may have in mind. The dentist will also ask about and give you advice on your diet, smoking, alcohol use and teeth-cleaning habits. During your dental check up, your dental professional will check for cavities which may include having x-rays taken.
First of all, the dental hygienist will assess the condition of your gums and teeth. Then they will gently remove any built-up plaque from the surfaces and in between the teeth. You will also receive advice related to brushing and flossing, the risk of dental decay, and more, all tailored to your own individual needs.
