Please look through the tabs above for the areas of counselling I specialise in and to get a little insight into my background. I refer to a range of counselling theories which in the main entail working together with you creatively to suit your needs. I strongly believe that everyone experiences issues differently from each another, though there may be similar patterns or emotions felt to these.
This clearly outlines a need for a tailored service. I appreciate that it can be difficult reaching out for help sometimes and hope I can put you at ease. I offer a free assessment over the phone to see if we can work together. You can contact me to arrange this via phone, email or the contact tab on this website.

Services
I am a Counsellor based in North Leeds. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from York St Johns University. My placement during this time was at Cruse Bereavement Care (Leeds), where I worked within a 6-week timeframe, with a range of clients, with issues triggered by their loss(es).
The scope of clients I have worked with has led me to train as a Supervisor within Cruse to support others with their clients and help ensure the quality of the service offered.Alongside this, I carry out telephone assessments for bereaved clients to prioritise, initiate them going on the waiting list and accurately tailor the support that each individual person requires.

What is Counselling? Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore any challenges or issues you are struggling with. It is an opportunity to speak with someone openly who isn't related to your life. It allows you to gain insight or alternative perspectives on problems you may be facing or help you to release difficult emotions you may be holding.
Loss is the process or fact of losing something or someone. This can be loss of a loved one, a job, a relationship or loss of health. Life will never be the same again, we learn to adapt and live around our loss. Grief is a natural process but can be devastating. Everyone experiences loss or grief differently and each has its own individual significance.
Does life feel a challenge, overwhelming, out of your grasp? Do you have a feeling of fear, worry or uneasiness? Is this affecting your decision-making, your eating, your sleeping, your relationships with others and general functioning? Anxiety can have a useful function for us, as it connects to the body's warning system to alert us that something isn't as it should be.
Depression is a common mental disorder and can occur when we are often looking back in our lives with a negative view. It can also transpire when we are restricted from expressing how we feel and these emotions are then depressed deep down. Depression can cause us to experience depressed mood, loss of interest or pleasure, guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, low energy, and poor concentration.
