We are a friendly community pre-school set in the heart of Lytchett Matravers. We provide pre-school education for children from two years old, right up to reception transfer. We are registered for 50 children to attend sessions at our modern, purpose-built setting. Services
Lytchett Matravers Pre-school Limited is a non-profit organisation with charitable status. The Pre-school started serving the children of this area in 1967. Since 1992 we have occupied a purpose built building adjacent to Lytchett Matravers Primary School. In 2001 this was extended, thanks to National Lottery Funding to provide more spacious premises with wheel-chair access.
I have over thirty years experience in Child Care and have worked in a variety of child care settings. I have worked at Lytchett Matravers Pre-school since 2006 and during this time I have continued my professional development and achieved a BA in Early Years and Early Years Teacher Status (QTS equivalent).
The Pre-school is run by volunteers who take on the roles of trustees and directors. The elections for the Trustee/Director positions take place at our Annual General Meeting (usually held in October/November). The AGM is open to the parents / guardians of all children at the setting. It is our shared forum for looking back over the previous years activities and shaping the current years plan.
Children are welcome to join our Pre-school any time from the age of two years and can stay with us right until transferring to reception year at Primary School. We are open during school term-time from 9.00am until 3.30pm offering morning, lunch and afternoon pre-school sessions throughout the week.
As parents are a child's first educator, we believe that it is important for us to form positive relationships with everyone who provides care for the children who attend Lytchett Matravers Pre-school in order for us best to meet the emotional and developmental needs of every child.
