Services
The new patient journey begins with booking an appointment with one of our reception team. This can be done by telephone or email through our website. Our reception team are able to answer any queries you may have regarding the various treatment options we offer at the practice from routine restorative work to more advanced dental implant therapy and tooth whitening.
Teeth can be stained by foods, drinks, smoking and certain medications. Teeth whitening is a safe procedure that can lighten the colour of your teeth by using a safe dental bleaching agent. Individual results vary and are based on your initial tooth colour and the nature of your tooth staining. Here your teeth are whitened in the dental chair.
Are your teeth stained, chipped, or not aligned on top of each other? Veneers are a good treatment option to consider because they look like natural teeth and don't require a major procedure. A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured piece of porcelain (like a false finger nail) that is bonded on top of your own tooth.
One option to improve the cosmetic look of your smile is to have your metal-coloured fillings replaced with tooth-coloured or 'white' fillings. This is a safe procedure that entails one of our dentists removing any decay from your tooth, taking out the metal or amalgam filling and placing a tooth coloured filling instead.
Aesthetic recontouring of your teeth involves small, minimal adjustment of your teeth to reshape and level your smile. By altering the way your teeth reflect the light we can help to camouflage twisted or misshapen teeth without more invasive procedures. Your gums frame and drape your teeth. Like a beautiful picture in the wrong frame, if the levels and shape of your gums aren't right, your smile may not look right.

Most disappointed with the recent unhelpful treatment I received. I was going to a check up appointment which takes less than 10mins. I am no longer local and was travelling to the appointment over an hour. I tried to call 4 times before the appointment 45mins ahead because I knew I was running late due to traffic. I finally got a response 2 mins to my appointment to be told that being 15mins late was too long and they wouldn't see me. I asked to be seen after the patient after me. Was told that they would check, they let me travel 15 more mins in their direction, prioritising another call before

My wife and myself have both just had our regular dental and hygienist checks . Until signing up with Mehdi and his team I was a terrified patient and dreaded going to the dentist! Not anymore! I have received the most amazing treatment, with state of the art technology, at Mermaid Dental Surgery. I had route canal work and crowns on two back teeth in one session. No pain, a beautiful result and I cannot thank the team enough for a truly professional, kind and friendly service. I felt comfortable and cared for all the way through. I moved to Mermaid a few months ago, and am delighted with how they operate and the quality of the Dentist's work. They're more expensive than my previous Dentist, but the difference in quality is well worth it. I've had two crowns done, on the same day, using the machine that carves them while you wait, so it was great to get it over with in one go and it all went really well. Also he noticed evidence that I'd been clenching my teeth, which I'd been completely unaware of, and the guard that they've made is comfortable as well as effective in reducing my headaches. I had C-Fast braces fitted to my top and bottom teeth by Mehdi Abrishami (fitted in March 2020 and taken off in December 2020) and I am very pleased with the result, my crooked and crowded teeth are now straight, which is a dream come true! Mehdi is an excellent dentist, he is professional, calm and clearly explains what needs to happen. His assistants Amber & Charlotte are also very friendly and helpful. I came to Mermaid Dental last year for an invisible brace known as C-Fast. As soon as I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Mehdi took the time to explain the differences in brace and what would suit me the best. I felt in safe hands and each time I came back for a check up, I would be given excellent service, with both Charlotte and Amber on reception and Mehdi taking the time to speak with me and answer any questions I had. I am over the moon with the results and can't believe i didn't do it sooner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mehdi and the team for this type of procedure

The dentist Mehdi immediately put a daunted patient at ease. This patient has always been haunted by his early experiences more than 75 years ago of the gas being put over his face! . He was calm , professional and throughout and reassuring . His assistant also did her job well . There was remarkably little bleeding or post-procedure pain , so much so that no painkillers were needed ! The post-procedure notes were clear and easy to follow . I would recommend this dentist to anyone looking for a dentist in the private sector . You expect to pay but this good value.

I am very happy with the treatment I received from Mermaid Dental. In the days leading up to Christmas I had two separate dental issues. Despite my not being a registered patient at that time, on both occasions I was seen the same day and both issues were resolved promptly and efficiently before the Christmas break. All at Mermaid Dental were very considerate and I was kept well informed about what was happening and what the options were.
