A Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) is a document required and enforced by the Environment Agency as a condition of an Environmental Permit. Any site storing or treating flammable waste is required to have a Fire Prevention Plan in place. Fire prevention plans are comprehensive documents and are assessed according to the current FPP guidance.
An Environmental Management System (EMS) is similar to other management systems, such as those that manage quality or safety. It assesses your business' strengths and weaknesses, helps you identify and manage significant environmental impacts, saves you money by increasing efficiency, ensures you comply with environmental legislation.
An environmental permit is required for all processes covered under the Environmental Permitting regulations. This includes waste transfer stations, metal recycling facilities, car breakers & other waste sites. Environmental Permits are either Standard Rules or bespoke permits. Which type of permit you require depends on your location and the type of operations your business carries out.
