Houghton Move is an independent small family run business based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. As you have probably guessed Houghton move is our namesake and a slight play on words which is only effective if you pronounce our surname correctly ( How-ton) which is a rarity! Being bored of office life Alec decided to start the business as a man with a van and it has just grown from there.
Whilst I (Jasmine), was on maternity leave after having our youngest child began helping on the admin side and have now become a fully fledged member of the team in our ever growing removals company here in Bishop's Stortford. At Houghton move we are conscious of the environment and always try to reuse things whenever possible. Strong reusable crates are now used as standard as part of our packing service, these are also available to rent (subject to availability) for any house move. Everyone likes things done a certain way and we are happy to pack things to your requirements, no matter how quirky!
Home removal company covering all areas of Hertfordshire and Essex but we don't stop there, we also move nationally too!. First time that we have used this company. They were very easy to do business with. Good communication, well organised and very efficient. They emptied a house for us in Bishops Stortford yesterday, turned up on time worked hard loading and unloading and were very careful.

Extremely positive experience all the way !
Alex and the team came on day one to pack up our 5-bed house and garage: quick tour to evaluate / check and 5 min later, keys handed over, off they went packing the house into boxes. By 3pm it was all done which was impressive. Day 2 was also as seamless and impressive: they loaded their vans, drive all the way to our new place late morning and by 4pm all was unloaded and that was on a hot day too ! Needless to say, all the goods we unpacked were all in very good order upon unpacking. Also, very impressed they came later on to pickup all the empty cardboard

Excellent, professional service from all the staff. Jasmine in the office replied to emails promptly. The removal men were polite, quick and efficient. Loading up the day before the move was a big help. I would definitely recommend Houghton Move Removals.
