Our firm is based in Kirkby Stephen and has been providing legal services to the community of the Eden Valley and beyond for over 100 years. We take pride in offering an efficient, professional and friendly service and always acting in our clients' best interest. We are a small firm which allows us to provide a very personal service including offering out of hours appointments and home visits where necessary.

The firm dates back to the early part of the 20th century and although it has been a one or two partner firm for most of that time, there are currently three partners - Litini Newcombe, Alex Sykes and Anthony Kilvington. The partners are supported by a team of five assistants. For more information about the team, please visit the Who We Are page.
Services
Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds which allows us to provide a range of services. Litini Newcombe specialises in residential conveyancing, wills, powers of attorney, estate administration and trusts. Alex Sykes specialises in commercial, agricultural and rural property and in particular woodland conveyancing.
Litini is the managing partner of the firm. Having originally been a secondary school deputy head teacher, she retrained and joined Kilvingtons as a partner in 2009. She works mainly in private client matters (wills, estate administration, powers of attorney) and residential conveyancing.

Alex works primarily for commercial and farming clients on all matters relating to commercial and agricultural property including first registration of land at the Land Registry, easements, option agreements and leases for wind turbines, sales and purchases of farms and farm land and commercial and agricultural tenancy agreements.
There's no escaping the fact that there are fees to be paid whenever people get involved with the law. However, we do everything we can to make those costs manageable so that you can try to get your matters resolved without worrying unduly about the expense. In many cases there are court fees or other third party fees (Land Registry, Revenue etc.)
All members of our firm are required to meet certain standards with regard to Client Care. Should there be any aspect of our service with which you are unhappy you should first raise the issue with the person dealing with your matter and then with the supervising partner. If still unresolved, you should refer to the Legal Ombudsman.

First-class service. The only people who ring you back when they say they will ring you back. Nothing is too much trouble. The only solicitors I would ever use.
