Never fails to be lovely over the years. We didn't eat because the restaurant was busy but the smell of food was mouth watering. I couldnt offer 5 stars on the day purely because out of 2 ladies toilets, only 1 was working and wasn't told of any others in the pub. You should always reserve a table here as it's a very very popular restaurant, Inn and hotel and quite rightly too!

Only went for the tuna steak that they used to do, but they've stopped doing it. Pork was tough , overall meal was very poor. We had lemon meringue for pud...barely any topping, pastry was thick and unbreakable! One young waitress was very good, the rest obviously didn't want to be there.

The accommodation was very good, nice and clean and well appointed. The only drawback was the noise. Was in a little courtyard of chalets, but the walls were so thin you could hear too much...
The food was okay but definitely not good for the money they are charging, having said that the breakfast was good

Food was very tasty, especially the sticky toffee pudding! We stayed in one of their small family rooms, they were very clean and well set up. They are very accommodating to dogs too, biscuits on the bar and blankets in the bedroom. The wait staff at dinner and breakfast were very friendly, but stayed professional. Would highly recommend the black horse for a relaxed drink, a place to dine and stay. We didn't follow any, but they provide maps for local walks, showing how far and how long they take. All in all, we are extremely impressed x

Booked this hotel as a last minute stopover and what a find. It was a lovely old Country Inn with open fires and fantastic hospitality. The menu was Gastro serving all local produce with game on the menu. There were also local Ales, Wine and Cider to die for. We stayed in the Iris Suite of which is in a new block of cottage look exterior appearance with all the latest modern interior hotel room comforts you would expect with a lovely Country feel. The breakfast menu was extensive again with all local produce. We will definitely be returning for another visit and will take a look around the lovely

A good local pub that offers good food and a selection of ales. The interior has a traditional cosy feel of wood beams, stone floor, open fires. The food is like good home cooking - is good quality but not outstanding. There is a changing selection of real ales, some local. The staff are helpful and service is good. Plenty of parking at the side of the pub by the outside seating area. I was staying close by and have been here twice, and would go back.
