Our garage has been established for 40 years and as owners of an independent garage we have worked incredibly hard to gain a reputation that we consider second to none. The majority of our business comes from repeat custom and customer recommendations. We service the needs of all areas including SK11, SK10, CW12, ST8 and even have customers that travel from as far away as Scotland!
We carry out complete Air conditioning service and repair on all cars and light commercials. We carry out air con regas using R123yf or R134a dependant upon the age of vehicle. 85% of all new vehicles now come with air conditioning as standard. As with most mechanical parts these systems need regular checks and servicing.
If you need a car battery in Macclesfield we offer a free battery health check and can then fit the right battery to your vehicle if it requires one. We stock a vast selection of batteries. We can order, receive and fit usually on the same day, should we not stock the correct battery for your vehicle.
Here at Shaw Street Garage we advise a BRAKE FLUID CHANGE every TWO years. Brake fluid deteriorates over time. It attracts and absorbs water from the air, which is an unavoidable continuous process even in a closed system like your brakes. Brake fluid needs to have a high boiling point, usually around 260 deg C, because of the considerable heat produced by the friction between the brake lining materials and the discs and drums.

My car was overheating. They said they fixed a fan, charged 60 pounds. Next day car was still broken, so I took it back, they said it is thermostat and will cost 40pounds. So they changed thermostat and said the bill is 80pounds. And surprise, on the way home car was overheating again. So I took it back, they check it and said everything is working and they have no idea.
I took it to another garage, in 1h guy said it is fan. Changed it, car works perfectly.
So I lost 140 pounds and still had broken car. Avoid this garage!

Excellent garage!! So nice to have things explained in a way that was easily understood. ….given that my knowledge of cars is limited, The old parts removed from my car were shown to me and I was given advice on what jobs were up and coming. When I suggested I book in now I was advised that they were not urgent and get a few more months out of the parts. I would have no hesitation in recommending this garage!
