The House in the Clouds, one of the country's most famous follies, provides spacious accommodation for the true family holiday having 5 bedrooms, 2 with double beds, 3 with twin beds and an additional double sofa bed. 3 bathrooms, drawing room, dining room and the magnificent "room at the top" giving the finest views of Suffolk.

Exceptionally well fitted the house provides a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine/dryer, colour television, full gas fired central heating, table tennis, lawn tennis and boules. Set in 1 acre of private grounds, the House in the Clouds overlooks Thorpeness Golf Course, Thorpness Meare and the sea on the very beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast.
Services
Originally intended to provide an adequate storage capacity for a basic water supply for Thorpeness village. Constructed by Braithwaite Engineering Company of London in 1923, it presented Thorpeness Estates with the difficult task of deciding what could be done with such a hideous structure on the skyline.
Fill in and print out the details below, or download the conditions PDF (in the right column). I agree to leave "the House in the Clouds" in a clean and tidy condition on my departure and undertake to replace and/or repair all losses, damage and breakages occurring during the period of my agreed rental.

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness, Value
This place is filthy, a health hazard, the sanitary ware is disgusting and it smells. It is dark, dingy and overpriced. Don’t stay here! You have been warned.

Unfortunately, because of the huge trees, which have been planted for the privacy of the owner I guess, you can't really get a good view of this place. One of the best pictures I got was from way back in the village.

If your in Suffolk for a visit then House in the Clouds is a must, right next to it is a pin mill another fantastic attraction, just a short walk down the road is the famous boating lake, where you can feed the swans and rent a boat for £18 per hour, if you fancy a bit to eat there are lots of options to choose from, and to top it all off the beach is there for amazing walks and even a dip in the sea.

Nice to look at, but these are privately owned so there is no option for looking around except from the road. House in the clouds was simply a disguise for a water storage tower tank. When area was connected to mains water the tank was removed and building converted to holiday rental accommodation.

An amazing house built around an old water tower.
As it is rented out we couldn't go inside but it looked like a real curiosity from outside the garden gate.
