Services
We first opened our doors for business back in 1968, when Gerald Braithwaite started a small workshop adjoining the family home. Initially, Gerald only offered vehicle repairs but soon began selling cars. The business expanded quickly over the following years and soon outgrew the original workshop, meaning that larger premises were required which were constructed directly opposite comprising of a workshop and covered showroom.
Over recent years we have continually invested in the latest diagnostic equipment and software enabling us to be at the forefront of servicing and maintaining our customer's vehicles. Did you know that EU legislation was put in place in 1983 to allow independent garages to service vehicles while still under manufacturer's warranty - maintaining that warranty as long as service schedules are followed and genuine parts are used.
Before leaving us all of our sales vehicles go through our own workshop where they are prepared to a high standard as well as being serviced and MOT'd where required.
Each vehicle is supplied with either a manufacturer's warranty or a warranty with ourselves - unlike many warranties that are supplied with second hand vehicles where the supplying dealer or you the customer have to go through to the warranty company in the event of a claim to get the work approved or indeed to see if it is covered!

Unlike car supermarkets and large car dealerships all our vehicles are handpicked by a member of Braithwaites Garage and with over 100 years experience between us you can be confident that you're buying a quality vehicle from a family name you can trust. Along with this every vehicle we sell is prepared to an extremely high standard in our own onsite workshop, in addition to which our cars come with our own warranty.

I found a beautiful late 2017 Loire Blue lovely specification Range Rover Vogue on Auto-trader.
I emailed Braithwaite's Garage in Penrith with my interest & they were on the ball straight away.
Sam Braithwaite was straight & concise on his email replies...
We discussed the merits of trading in my 2016 Vogue & Sam offered me fair - decent money in a part exchange (better than main dealers in any event)
We conscientiously discussed the merits of both vehicles over a few days & then swiftly came to an acceptable deal . I gave a £1000 deposit over the phone.
The car had been most recently serviced

Thank you Sam for really looking after me and providing such a beautiful m4, I am loving the car and the condition was as described. I emailed over the weekend and did some negotiations then by Thursday this week the vehicle had a new MOT and service and was prepped and ready for me to collect. A "quick" 6 hour drive each way to collect my new car and I was buzzing all the way home. I would definitely recommend Sam and the business to anyone.

I bought our Audi RS4 from Sam. From start to finish Sam was always upfront and kept me informed of progress. You really get the feeling of the family business, we met Sam's uncle and his gran when we picked up the car! Nothing was too much trouble, with Sam ensuring the car was in tip top condition before we picked it up. We travelled from the South Coast to collect the car, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again for this sort of service.

Well to add to a previous review where I hired the gun metal grey camper (in the pic) and the outstanding level of service we received, we ended up going back a week later and buying my own camper van from them. As with their hire service, the sales staff were truly outstanding. Nigel was friendly and most importantly honest, a true pleasure to deal with. Whether you require a new car or just a service, I promise you will not go wrong going to Braithwaites.
