Beef is hard to find at the standard Knight Butchers wants for their customers and the main choice is to stock the very best from Scotland. Aberdeen Angus 28 day matured scotch beef (below, right) - grass fed, fully matured and rich flavoured. Our Beef Truffles (below, left) are also a very popular choice for our customers, made from Aberdeen Angus Steak mince, with added red onion and cheese.
They are a long established business (over three generations)and have won numerous awards over the years, culminating in winning the 2002 National Quality Chicken Award. The final selection process involved judging on taste, texture and carving - all of which they scored highly. The judges commented particularly on the 'mouth-watering' appearance of the chickens.
J Knight Butchers is steeped in a creative history of sausage making founded by John Knight in 1957 and the recipes have just kept getting better and better. All sausages are produced on the premises using locally produced pork, natural skins and hand-mixed and linked. Over 30 different varieties from around the world.

There are two things that make all the difference.
1. The quality. The beef here is exceptional and second to none. It all comes down to taste and it doesn't get any better than this. This is SERIOUS beef.
2. Service. I don't know how many times I've walked in at 5pm and asked for a particular cut and they've literally extracted the cut from half a beef. And then they'll trim the cut before weighing and pricing it.
Lastly, they have some SERIOUS sausages.
If beef is your thing, give this place a try.

I rang Knights at about 11 a.m on a Saturday morning, I could hear by the noise in the background just how busy they were. I inquired into the possibility of a delivery, spoke to a really helpful chap called Chris. Within 30 minutes he arrived with my order. THAT'S WHAT I CALL FIRST CLASS SERVICE!!!

Been coming here only for a few weeks but always with the wife. on one occasion there was us two plus one other customer in the shop plus at least two butchers. Today it was either me or the wife, due to covid apparently. very rude assistant. can I please suggest that you clean more, you are not following the correct protocol regarding either surfaces or more importantly your door handle. not cleaned between at least 6 customers.
