The team is led by Michael Hendy ACMA, who is a fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant. Michael set up the Certax Sunderland office following over 25 years' experience of accountancy and business. This wide business experience enables Michael to offer a service which is way beyond just doing the numbers and is focussed on making your business more profitable.
For many limited companies, their accountants produce their year-end accounts and corporation tax return. The accountant may keep hold of the books for a substantial period of time, and provides no proactive support throughout the year. Every business is different. Many companies are happy to employ their accountant to undertake annual accounts and tax returns only.
If you are a sole-trader, you may find "doing the books" a chore. It can be time-consuming and draining after a hard day running your business and working for your customers. At the end of the year a tax return is filed and there is one less thing to worry about. However, it comes with a hefty bill from the accountant, and there is a niggling doubt that it seems like a lot of money for very little.
