My name is Jane Rackham and I have a sports / remedial massage therapy clinic in Cheltenham and Gloucester. I have been running this since 2003 and am a registered member of the FHT (International Council of Health, Fitness & Sports Therapists). As well as sports / remedial massage I specialise in myofascial release using the Rossiter System method.
I am privileged to say I am an advanced level 4 Rossiter coach and only 1 of 9 in the UK. Unlike basic Swedish massage this is a unique treatment to reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility and help prevent injury. Rossiter has developed a two-person stretching program that not only alleviates structural pain but can prevent its occurrence.

As we come to the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I would like to highlight the benefits of massage after surgery and radiotherapy. Having experienced it at first hand I know it helped massively. I trained in March this year with Susan Findlay on a 3 day Oncology Massage course which taught me so much more about the endless possibilities after a cancer diagnosis.
Not every scar need help but most scars that are causing pain, restriction can and do respond extremely well. Did you know that it takes 18months for a scar to heal fully. Most scars can be worked on after 10weeks and on much older scars. ScarWork Therapy helps reduce pain, increase function, mobility and quality of life which has been effected by internal and external scars (regardless of the age of the scar).
It is a type of massage therapy which utilises deep tissue techniques, with the aim of reducing muscular tension, discomfort and pain. A sports massage therapist will use a variety of deep tissue techniques throughout a treatment which involve longitudinal stripping, friction techniques, tapotement and muscle energy techniques such as PNF stretching, active movement and trigger point compression.
The Rossiter System addresses pain at its cause, which is the body's connective tissue system. Connective tissue is really quite simple to understand. It is the stretchy, strong ligaments, tendons and broad, fascial coverings that connect every part in the body to all the other parts for head to toe.

I was put in touch with Jane and she very quickly got back to me and squeezed me in to her busy schedule as I was in a lot of pain. After only 2 appointments, the relief on my calves is unbelievable and she has given me some great knowledge to take away to ensure I continue to improve whilst continuing with training. I will 100% be a regular visitor to Jane!

I had been running for a couple of years when I started to feel pain in the bottom of my feet and heels. I tried to work through it without success so looked for help. I went to a few different clinics but hey didn't really help at all. So I resigned to the fact that I would not be able to run again. I kept this attitude for a long time until I had been suffering for about 18 months - 2 years.
The pain was progressively getting worse. I would sit down for a small while and when I got up I could hardly put any weight through my heels. Tip toeing until the pain calmed down a bit.
I finally gave

I went to Jane towards the end of last year after I had been suffering with knee pain that wouldn’t disappear. We talked through the issue, and the massage and strength exercises she recommended got right to the problem, and I haven’t had any issues since.
Based on this experience I used Jane’s Marathon Support Package for my first Marathon this year. Her advice was invaluable, and I’m not sure I would have got to the end without her! I can thoroughly recommend Jane - she listens carefully and tailors her support to the individual, and is really open to questions and sharing tips and advice

I have been to visiting Jane for the last 15 years for various old and new injuries.. Every time I go I am given a diagnosis and workable treatment plan which has resulted in me becoming pain free. I have experienced her massage, physio and more recently Rossiter and foam rolling. I can highly recommend Jane's services.

Brilliant foam roller session with Jane, I learned so much and felt the session will be a huge benefit to me moving forwards. Lots of demo's by Jane and a chance to practice each move, full explanations which helped me understand why each move is of benefit, and I thoroughly it! Would definitely recommend this session to others.
