I'm Paul Walton and this is about how I became a painter and decorator and proud owner of 1st Class Painting & Decorating. Below you can read a little about my background and how I became a decorator and how my business started. Never one to enjoy traditional academic subjects at school I was fortunate that I was still young when realised I have a talent in decorating.
After training in the trade with a couple of my friends, painting and decorating has been my bread and butter ever since. I began my working life decorating high-end new build houses, hotels and offices for a large building company. Here I cut my teeth in decorating prime buildings and learnt the best techniques for a premium finish.

Services
1st Class Painting and Decorating in Coventry is a quality service with a big difference to most! Firstly Im not just a basic decorator, often my work can be more like light renovation. I do deep repairs to cracks to try and stop them coming back with a very high success rate. Also I resurface walls so often no need for a separate plasterer.
Not only do I have years of experience but I also have current yearly accreditations as I am also a Dulux Select Decorator and TrustMark Association approved. What these accreditations mean for you is that you can be assured that my work will be to the high standard my company name states - first class, and you can trust that I will provide you with the exceptional customer service you deserve.
Paul's work was of the highest standard and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the fillers and paints that are available and made sure that I was getting the best and most appropriate materials on the market. He was the epitomy of professionalism, punctual, polite and very tidy. He left the house spotless.
Also known as cove moulding, is both practical (helping prevent cobwebs and dirt and dust build-ups) and is a great aesthetic asset to add an interesting design to a room. If you'd like to talk about how coving can be incorporated into your decorating or if you're already set on having it - call 1st Class Painting & Decorating for a trusted workman who has the TrustMark stamp of approval.
The photo gallery below shows how the walls have big patches of paint missing and lots of imperfections from the where the walls have had the wallpaper stripped off. The Mirka sander is then used to sand the walls and the dust is extracted. The end result is a smooth finish where I have resurfaced the walls and very importantly without covering the house in a fog like dust like hand sanding would of caused.

Paul did a fantastic job of decorating our hall way and second bedroom. He arrived on time, was very considerate, cleaning up after himself at the end of the first day and leaving the place immaculate once he'd finished. He did everything for the price quoted (which was very reasonable, given the quality of work), there were no nasty surprises in the bill. We will definitely use him again!

Prior to us receiving a quote, Paul conducted a thorough survey of the scope in our hall, stairs and landing area. Paul is very knowledgable of the materials and techniques required to conduct repairs and provide a top quality finish. Throughout the work, Paul was very tidy and demonstrated attention to detail. We are very pleased with the finished results and look forward to having Paul perform further work in our home. We would not hesitate to recommend Paul for all interior decorating projects.

Perfection!! Even though we were satisfied Paul worked over until he was satisfied, Paul is very guarded about his reputation and it shows in the quality of his work. We also took his guidance on materials and colour schemes and were not disappointed, he's not cheap but then not expensive, remember, you pay peanuts.... Ask yourself, do you want your painting done every 2 years because it hasn't lasted that long or would you just rather get it done properly once , He also covered large holes in our drywall to give a seemless finish, saving us money on a plasterer

I had coving put up in my kitchen by Paul. The ceilings were very tall and the coving was a large traditional plaster style, yet Paul managed to get it installed and finished to an excellent standard, to the point where it is easily assumed to be original. A great achievement for a difficult task like this, but Paul has the skills and the attitude to approach the work properly.
The service was extremely smooth, with great communication throughout, completely fair pricing and the utmost attention to detail. Paul is not a tradesman who wants to leave a job because the time is up, but finishes his

Recently Paul returned to fully decorate the bathroom, kitchen & utility which were the rooms he didn’t do when he first came in 2015. His attention to detail, trustworthiness, professionalism remain as high as ever. He will always go that extra mile to ensure the job is completed to his own very high standard of finish. He was pleased that what he’d decorated 4 years ago was still so clean and fresh, a testament to how excellent his work is. You really do get a first class job when you appoint Paul and would recommend him to anyone. A truly hard working and very talented tradesman. It was

We used Paul to redecorate almost half of our house. Not only is the work to a very high standard, as other reviews show too, but we were particularly impressed by Paul's diligence and creativity, his willingness to talk through options, and determination to solve problems. He even corrected substandard work done by other tradesmen (the sanding of our tiles in hallway)! Overall we are very happy, and looking forward to having him back to decorate our new kitchen in the autumn. Highly recommend.
