John Mills Curtains and Blinds was formed in our present location at 79 High Street, Swadlincote in 1983 by John Mills. The company was first formed to sell curtains, tracks and accessories. The company expanded and had to build on the car park to accommodate expanding trade in made to measure curtains with all the accessories such as swags and tails, pelmets, valances of all shapes and sizes etc.
In the early 1990's blinds became more popular and they had to move with the times and they expanded their blinds selection to such an extent that they sell many different types such as Roman (made in house to your specification), roller, verticals, pleated, vision, perfect fit for conservatories, wooden, venetian and allusion, and as time passes there will be more according to fashion and trends.

Personal appointment to our store will be available before and after these times, so that clients can visit our store and be the only customers present along with our staff if that is preferable. This will be on an appointment only basis, please call us for that service.

We manufacture all our roman blinds, bespoke for your personal requirements. Choose from our range of about 3000 fabrics, choose your lining material, either cotton sateen, thermal or blackout. These will be assembled onto wooden 1" x 1" baton system or onto a metal track and chain system. We have a vast range of 300 different fabrics to choose from to make your choice.
We are proud to be one of the leading suppliers of custom made curtains in the area. With fabrics from all the major suppliers such as Bill Beaumont, Style, Bellfields, ILIV, Curtain Express, Prestigious and many more. We literally have thousands of fabrics to choose from. Made up in house to your own personal requirements.
We carry about 20 different patterns of nets and fine voles in stock by the roll in all popular sizes to supply over the counter, as well as many more to order by cut length from Filigree and Mirabelle. Jardinieres are also available to order. Net curtains let the daylight through but provide privacy so they are perfect to use in a layered window solution.
Here at John Mills Curtains and Blinds we offer wide ranges of rails, corded or uncorded, poles of all shapes and sizes, from 1.2mts to 5mts, wooden or metal with numerous finishes and finials. As well as retailing a variety of curtain hooks and brackets we sell a wide range of tie back hooks, cleats, hold backs, extra rings and gliders as well as many more things.

Amazing little shop! Went in for fabric to cover chairs. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. They stock everything you need for making curtains and sell all notions etc. If they haven't got it on the shelf ask! They brought out a load of braid just for me. Got fantastic price on fabric remnants. Will definitely return. Look no further for curtain supplies.
