I had recently completed a degree in Music Composition and, having spent months riding the uncertain waves of that industry, I was glad of a guaranteed week's work with regular hours. Knowing nothing of the world of handmade rugs, I turned up to help out on the shop floor, and immediately got stuck in to helping customers find what they were looking for.
Two things struck me that week - how magical it is that such beauty is still handmade in the world today, and the delight they can bring to a client's home. At the end of the week I asked for, and was granted, a permanent position and I demoted music to pastime status.

A hand-made rug or carpet should be cleaned periodically to keep the abrasive dirt and grit out of the pile - this is the biggest cause of wear. Having been looking for a large rug for my new house for a couple of months I was delighted to stumble across this shop whilst passing through Petworth a couple of weeks ago. The chap I dealt with was incredibly helpful and I found exactly the style/colour of rug I was looking for. Brilliant selection and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Beautiful store, beautiful stock!
A fantastic range of carpets from very small to very large! Each piece is handmade and unique, there’s something for everyone!
Very helpful staff, passionate about the carpets but not at all pushy. They even let you try the rugs at home!
It’s really neat and tidy, easy to get to the size and/or style you are looking for.
