At Little Explorers we nurture children between birth and 5 years of age, in our cosy converted home from home in both Thornton Cleveleys and Carleton. A Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Come and look at our fantastic outdoor provision, we are also minutes walk away from 3 beautiful public woodlands.
Our managers share 20 years experience as Early Years teachers, Deputy Head Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

Services
Practitioners work in partnership with children, parents and carers in the nursery to carefully plan children's next steps of learning around their unique interests and learning characteristics. Nobody knows their child like their parents! The Early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
Our Explorers curriculum is designed to give our children the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. Through our passion for learning outdoors and our pursuit for excellence, our intent is for all our explorers to reach their full potential, becoming confident learners ready to start school.
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers children opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a Woodland environment. This approach is one that Ofsted views as "outstanding". Forest Schools originated in Europe in the early 20th century as a way of teaching about the natural world.
All of our lovely ladies have been specially chosen to care for and educate your children on a daily basis and make their earliest years the happiest ones. The best way to learn about our nursery and the care we provide is to come and see for yourself.
Whilst we operate an open door policy and you should feel free to pop in to our nursery at any time, it is a great idea to contact one of the senior management team to arrange a time when they can show you our facilities in depth. It is our staff that add the special magic to your child's day and therefore our educators are selected very carefully having successfully completed a rigorous recruitment process.

THREE HOSPITAL VISITS FOR MY SON
My son was in their care and as a result had his latest hospital visit August 2021 which will be with him for the rest of his life. He could well have be left with life-long effects from a traumatic incident at Little Explorers and as a mum I just wish I had acted on the warning signs beforehand and taken him out earlier and this would have never happened.
My son was on a trike which had no pedals on either side just spindles, very loose headset and all three wheels were extremely wobbly. My son was at the front along with second child on the back of the tricycle

My son has attended Little Explorers for over a year and half now and he loves it! He never wants to leave at the end of the day and always wants to go on weekends! He has learnt so much and comes home with new skills every day that surprise me! The outdoor opportunities are incredible and the staff could not be more loving and nurturing! I know my little boy is learning skills for life that you can't achieve from sitting behind a desk and that is thanks to this nursery!

The owner is a good salesperson, don't be taken in by the spiel .
The children are well looked after most of the time but some fall through the gaps . Our little one left there unable to spell their name & only brought 3 pieces of art home in the whole 2 years but at least had a good time playing outside.

A great nursery with lovely, friendly, welcoming staff who adore children. My little boy absolutely loves going and doesn't want to leave! The garden is amazing, far better than anything I've seen at other local nurseries. They always have great activities to keep the children well entertained and they take them on excursions to local woodlands to explore- what more could you ask for? I highly recommend this nursery 😊
