Kathryn King Designer Jeweller Ltd is owned and managed by award winning designer jeweller Kathryn King BA(Hons), PG Dip, CDG(HRD). In 1996 after graduating from Edinburgh College of Art and following first prize success in the United Kingdom Platinum Awards Kathryn set up business in her home town, the former artists colony of Kirkcudbright.
From inception the business has gone from strength to strength. In 1998 Kathryn King Designer Jeweller Ltd was the winner of the Royal Bank of Scotland & Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust Regional Business Award. Kathryn was then short listed for the Scottish Businesswoman of the Year Awards (Most Enterprising Start-up).

Services
We offer a bespoke jewellery service where we will create a piece of jewellery as individual as you are. This can be a variation of the jewellery that we have in the shop or something completely different. Perhaps you have a clear vision of the jewellery you want us to bring to life. Some of our customers even bring in pictures and sketches.
With a variety of handmade designer jewellery in our collection they can choose the perfect gift themselves. An electronic gift card for the indicated amount, delivered by email to your intended recipient. You will be able to enter a special message during checkout that will be sent alongside a unique gift code.
I spend many enjoyable hours with customers choosing combinations of colours and cuts of precious and semi-precious gemstones. My design inspiration comes mainly from nature but also from architecture and travel. Time working in India and childhood memories of living in the middle east have strong influences on my designs.

Husband had a stunning ring made for our 50th wedding anniversary as a surprise for me.Kathryn went out of her way to do the design that he wanted.It is beautiful and so grateful to her. For my 21st my grandmother gave me a kathryn king bangle. Unfortunately I damaged it and so my grandmother dropped it off for repair. After 1 year of no response to communication I went to her shop (I live in Aberdeen) and asked for it back as is. She told me it would be ready the next day because it was in her other workshop. My grandmother and me visited the next day, upon which I was presented with a different, albeit it similarly designed bangle (it came as a part of a set so it should have matched). My mum and I went to visit Kathryn King to look for a 21st ring for myself and ended up designing one in the shop. Katherine was patient and allowed us to spend lots of time looking at stones, bringing forward lots of design suggestions and showing us lots of options. We took a long time to decide but she didn't rush the decision at all. In the end we ended up designing and choosing the very stones which went into the ring, which was a really personal experience. As a result I have a beautiful completely unique ring which I love. Thank you so much.

Absolutely disgusted by Ms King. My partner had a very special engagement ring made for me by Katherine King. Not only is it bespoke, it features the heirloom diamond from my great grandmother's 100 year old engagement ring. Despite my partner allowing 10 weeks for the ring to be made (it says 4 - 6 weeks on the website) he was messed around and caused nothing by stress until he finally got the ring the day before his "deadline" for the proposal which didn't leave enough time to propose the way he planned.
