At ABC Rainbow Day Nursery our aim is to create the atmosphere of a home from home. We have two large properties with enormous gardens, both of which have been completely and extensively refurbished over the years, with the addition of a purpose-built baby units. We have established excellent links with the local schools and our standing in the community is very high.
Our long-term aim is to ensure that we stay abreast of the changes in "early years" care and education, to ensure that our children have the best possible start in life. Our standards of care are continuously monitored to maintain excellence. Both nurseries are now managed by full time, highly qualified and experienced nursery managers with child care and qualified staff.

Services
In 1983, at a time when my children were toddlers, my family moved to Essex. I quickly discovered that the local pre-school provision did not include the sort of high quality nursery care that I envisaged for my sons. I set about to create my dream. In 1990, we were invited to purchase the Southbourne Grove site and both nurseries are now managed by full time, highly qualified and experienced nursery managers.
At Rainbow we work towards the Government's Early Years Foundation Stage (Rev 2012) Curriculum.
The EYFS - 3 Prime Areas (Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language) and 4 Specific areas (Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Designs) - seeks to provide: quality & consistency in all early years settings, so that every child, including children with special educational needs & disabilities, makes good progress & no child gets left behind; a secure foundation through learning & development opportunities which are planned around the needs & interests of each individual child & are assessed & reviewed regularly; partnership working between practitioners & with parents and / or carers; equality of opportunity & anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included & supported.

Our nursery accommodation is specifically designed and arranged to meet the needs of young, Pre-school children. Our outdoor facilities are unrivalled. We have a huge garden and as well as our many outdoor activities, we employ a gardener who works with the children sowing, planting and growing a wide range of flowers and vegetables.
My eldest son has left there with happy memories, good manners and an excellent learning knowledge ready to go forward and progress in life which is ultimately down to the hardworking and caring nature of the staff at Rainbow. Staff in all three units (Baby, Toddler and Pre-school) are enthusiastic and dedicated carers, always striving to provide a positive, secure environment in which our boys have developed.
There is no doubt in our minds that our sons confidence, polite manners, social skills, independence, general well being and development is in-part due to the excellent environment in which they have experienced at Rainbow.
