Arbortec
Here at Arbortec, we hold over 40 years experience, along with being an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor and having CHAS and TrustMark registration. We aim to complete all jobs, commercial and domestic, to an equally high standard. At Arbortec we undertake tree pruning work to British Approved Standards BS3998, and are also available for consultations on TPO's or Conservation Areas Applications.

Arbortec aim to provide tree related services of the highest standard for Bolton, Greater Manchester and all of the North West at a fair and competitive price. Crown Reduction refers to pruning work carried out over the entire parameters of a tree's canopy. Reasons for this action are to help maintain good shape and retain large trees for the maximum amount of time without the need of full tree removal.
Services
At Arbortec we advise that Deadwood or Crown Cleaning should only be carried out if the tree or trees are in a position where branches may cause injury or damage to a person or obstacle when shed by the tree. Non-living branches or stems due to natural ageing or external influences. Deadwood provides essential habitats and its management should aim to leave as much as possible, shortening or removing only those that pose a risk.
In most urban situations sectional felling is normally the only option, as hazards or obstacles are often within close proximity to the tree. The operation of sectional felling to remove trees can take more time than other work plans but offers much more precision and control. It is often the only way to achieve safe removal of a tree without high risk to life and limb, or damage to surrounding property.
Living in the North West, it's almost inevitable for both Commercial and Domestic sectors to eventually incur storm damage. Residents experience multiple severe storms every winter, and with them come the potential for damaged and fallen trees, which can ultimately harm your home, vehicles, property and even causing injuries / fatalities in extreme circumstances.
You do not normally need permission to plant a hedge in your garden and there are no laws that limit the height you can grow your hedge. Nor is it an offence for a hedge of any particular height or species (variety) to be grown. Planning laws that governs the height of boundary walls and fences does not apply to hedges.
Very similar to hedges conifers need to be maintained at least once a year to help keep them in the shape you desire. Once a conifer gets to the height required you should maintain it at that level as allowing conifers to grow to big can become a near impossible task to bring it back to a level it once was.

Stump Grinder Guard
We have been using the TreeHog fold out Grinding Guard for about six months now after we were asked to trial it for Arbortech. We have used different guards in the past and this one completely outperforms them all. It is robust, easy to pack away into a compact bag, and does the job perfectly. It comes with metal pegs to keep it in situ on windy days but seldom needed. I can not recommend this product highly enough to anyone engaged in stump grinding services. A great investment.
