Shoyswell Cottage B&B is situated in an idyllic location of outstanding natural beauty about 2 miles from the village of Ticehurst, standing on the crest of a hill overlooking a picturesque Vale.

The current owners, two Notting Hill refugees and their faithful dogs, Tiny, Lola and Muffin have taken the original 1920's villa and converted this to include 4 double bedrooms, a large communal sitting / garden room, entrance hall and the breakfast room. The extensive gardens with an attractive pond are completely at the disposal of our guests.
Services
The Bull Inn, originally founded in 1385, is the essence of an English country pub. Set amongst rolling fields and woodland, the pub specialises in a friendly welcome, good pub grub, excellent service and a cosy ambience. There is a large garden, field and childrens play area, which come into their own during the summer months.
As the mellow mists of Autumn start to gather in the valley, and the fruits ripen gently in our orchard; as the trees begin to turn a rainbow of russet, cherry and yellow, so all seems peaceful at Shoyswell. Not necessarily so! Once the last guests have departed for this season, the builders will be setting up in earnest in our front driveway, and the construction of the new wing and small courtyard will be taking place.
I was delighted to receive the following e-mail today from a lovely couple who stayed with us last week. Just wanted to say, many thanks for the terrific time we had staying with you last week. We enjoyed it tremendously. We very much appreciated your wonderful hospitality and the beautiful surroundings.

What a delightful, friendly, comfortable & relaxing place to stay. The rooms are both incredibly well designed & comfortable. The hosts are warm & welcoming. Set in large garden with small lake I imagine this would be a beautiful place to stay any time if the year. Reasonably priced too.

Despite our last minute booking, Joleyon and the dogs were outstanding hosts - and we were so pleased to find this rural gem.
Behind the gate to Shoyswell, is a verdent garden oasis. You're then greeted by three charming dogs competing to say hello and show you about.
We were then asked to be guinea pigs for high tea that they're thinking of offering. And so we had to indulge in scones and cream and tea from fine bone china when we arrived. It was all very taxing... And then we were introduced to our room with the most wonderful bed.
Joleyon then gave us excellent local dinner recommendations
