Over a period of time, oxidation within central heating systems will result in the build up of black oxidative (i.e sludge) and other deposits. The accumulation of these unwanted deposits can have many detrimental effects on a heating system.
Most people take boilers, cookers, fires and any other gas appliances they have for granted assuming they are working properly, efficiently and most of all safely. It is recommended that your appliances are serviced regularly or in accordance with your manufacturer's guidelines but at least checked annually to establish they are operating safely.
