With extensive experience and a global reputation, ETA's knowledge, people, and equipment sit behind the success of many major subsea cable projects worldwide. From planning and procedures to research and design, ETA offers the expertise to deliver quality and success. ETA's project management expertise are built on an understanding of the industry acquired through years of hands on experience.
ETA offers a range of specialist equipment for subsea cable handling, installation, and burial; developed and designed in-house for tailored results. ETA routinely provides expert personnel to support cable projects worldwide. All ETA's staff have extensive experience and full technical support from ETA headquarters.

Services
We provide independent, high quality project management, technical and QA services to a broad spectrum of developers and contractors. Since we have no construction or operating interests, clients may be confident that our advice is free of bias. We believe our client list reflects the success of this approach.
ETA provides project engineering services to client projects globally. In many cases a project engineer is provided to work as part of the client team at key stages of the project. Alternatively we perform specified assignments on an 'as required' basis.
ETA's Design Engineering team can bring skills and knowledge acquired on wide ranging design projects around the world, as well as from designing ETA's own range of subsea equipment, to address your own bespoke requirements.A 'desk top' or FEED study is an extremely effective and often essential tool to focus early planning and engineering of any marine project.

The Environmental Technologies Institute's 'Tidal Energy Converter' (TEC) project was set up to identify ways of providing a cost effective deployment of tidal current technologies on a commercial scale in UK waters.
Working for lead contractors Atlantis, ETA were initially commissioned to provide concept design for a cable connection system to the tethered tidal turbine (floating and mid water) including installation procedures and to conduct a separate study on options for cable designs for fixed tidal devices.

ETA, through our in-house research and development projects have gained significant knowledge of key areas of marine design including: surface and subsea machinery; subsea control systems (hydraulic and electric); termination and connection solutions; quadrants; cable hang off systems; cable recovery systems; submerged water jetting; and underwater track systems.
ETA's vessel layout skills and experience are considerable. ETA has developed spreads for a range of purposes across all the major subsea cable markets and can manage everything from design, to procurement and mobilisation.
We have converted telecoms cable vessels to Power Cable/Umbilical layers, including the design of deck layout and full manufacturing drawings for modifications to cable tanks, tank cones, coiling arms, gantry, deck quadrants, cable engine seats and chute. We have prepared deck layout designs and class approval for fitting of large cable trenching ROV to 'flatback vessels' and supplied the mobilisation engineers.
