Services
We undertake home and office removals in and around Claygate and smaller moves, if required with our Man & Van service. Claygate takes its name from the clay pits that used to be in the village, providing bricks for a large surrounding area including most of Hampton Court Palace three miles away. The area lies at the start of the broad belt of clay deposits around London and the village was, literally, the "gate-way" to the "clay".
We undertake house and flat removals in and around Cobham as well as smaller Man & Van removals for clients needing a small removal service. Cobham is more historic than many of the other local areas, as it appears in the Domesday Book as Covenham. On the outskirts of Cobham is Stoke d'Abernon, whose name is taken from a family who settled here at time of the Norman conquest in 1066.
We undertake house and office moves in and around Hinchley Wood. The following information may be useful if you are planning to move into the local area, especially on the Hinchley Wood Residents Association web site. Hinchley Wood emerged as a community only after the opening of Hinchley Wood Station in 1930 by Southern Railway between Surbiton and Claygate and the local builders who took advantage of this in a mini-housing boom.
Stoke d'Abernon appears in Domesday Book of 1086 as Stoche, the suffix d'Abernon comes from a family who came over at the time of the Norman conquest in 1066. The railway station shares its name with nearby Cobham and was built at the end of the 19th century during the railway boom.
In 1963 violinist Yehudi Menuhin founded The Yehudi Menuhin Music School which is internationlly acclaimed, though today Stoke d'Abernon is probably more well known as being the home to the training ground of Chelsea FC, with many members of the past and present team living locally.
