Services
The relationship between trees and people is what defines our business; we ensure this relationship is mutually beneficial. We surround our gardens and streets with trees for the benefit it brings us, Centaur Tree Surgeons in Oxford can provide services for pruning these trees on an individual basis.
All trees have a natural life span and unfortunately they will all die eventually. Fungal decay or incorrect planting schemes are a couple of reasons why a tree becomes unstable and needs to be removed before the end of its natural life. Centaur Tree Services has extensive knowledge in the safe removal of trees and this knowledge ensures the safe working practice of the site.
Special equipment is required to quickly and efficiently remove stumps and roots of the tree. Stump grinders use carbide tipped cutting teeth to quickly grind out a root ball converting it to a pile of chippings that mulch down into the soil. Centaur Tree Services has a commitment to leave the work site as tidy as possible and to limit any evidence work was even carried out.
If you're looking to improve the look of your garden, or re-plant trees for future generation we can offer both advice and services to complete the works. The planting of new trees is often overlooked in todays fast-paced world however new planting is vital for the next generation and to help balance the impact of our impact on nature and the environment.
This is a very basic form of tree management originally undertaken as a form of agricultural tree management. Today it is still employed as a way of retaining large trees in an area where there is not enough room for their full canopies. If you think of the London Plane trees throughout the capital all these trees are managed as a form of pollarding.

BEWARE!! Centaur Tree Services state they never burn anything (very good), but they also claim - in a letter personally signed by Ben Scoble and used as supporting evidence for a planning application - to use a yard in Kingston Stert. This application claims it is used, by Centaur Tree Services, on an industrial scale, 7 days a week, including the processing and burning of timber! Dishonest!!
I don't know whether this dishonesty impacts their actual business practices; reading the other reviews on here suggests it hasn't done, but it certainly raises doubts about their character, credibility,

We saw at first hand how professional Ben and his team were after they completed a major job for a neighbour on our lane with minimal disruption. We have since used Centaur three times for large and small jobs and have always found them reliable, professional and friendly and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who has any sort of tree work pending.

I would have NO hesitation in recommending Ben and his team for any tree work that you may be considering.
They are well organised and very professional in the way they work especially when some of our trees were quite close to neighbouring properties and fences.
They tidied up at the end of each day ( rare these days!)and ensured that I was happy before they left.
