Services
I understand the challenges of small businesses within West Dorset and neighbouring areas, which enables me to adapt to your unique business needs. As a qualified bookkeeper a member of The Institute of Certificated Bookkeepers (ICB) I have the ability to keep your books up-to-date and accurate. I will keep your business information confidential (with the exception of legal requirements) and I will do my best to assist your business to prosper.
It is impossible to run a successful business without financial records. HMRC insist that all sole traders and limited companies keep financial records for at least 6 years and can produce them for inspection if required. Tax records need to be completed on time to avoid HMRC penalties and if you have the information your tax will be calculated accurately.
Sole traders and self-employed entrepreneurs have many tasks, to-do lists are long, business life can be very busy. Keeping your financial records is just one more task for you to perform, something else to fit into your busy schedule. Doing your accounts is not only important because you are legally required to and you need the information for your tax return but is very helpful, often vital, to run a successful business.
Are you a Directors of small limited companies who finds it difficult to make the time to keep your bookkeeping up-to-date? In theory bookkeeping for a Limited Company is simpler than for a sole-trader as there should be a clear separation between the owner and company finances. Are you struggling to achieve this separation?
Computers are excellent at keeping records and performing calculations, while I can provide manual/paper accounting books, my extensive experience with computers will provide you with the most cost-effective system for your business. I have many years experience of using Spreadsheets (including Microsoft Excel) and have the ability to design these to suit you, or to analyse your data in a way that is useful to your business.
