Fancy your chances against your fellow brokers? Why not join in the fun and sign up for our free Euro Predictor competition with a top prize of 250 worth of Amazon vouchers. We'll keep you up to date with the scores and we'll even remind you to make your prediction for each game. You have right up until 5 minutes before each game kicks off - so you can follow the pundits' advice or go your own way!
Whether you're upscaling or downsizing, moving home is an exciting experience and we'd love to share it with you. Let us remove some of the home moving stress by taking care of your next mortgage. How much you can borrow depends on several factors, such as your income, outgoings, the current value of your property and your loan-to-value (LTV).
Remortgaging your home? We've got you covered! If your current mortgage deal is ending, and you're looking for a lower rate with a new lender, you could save money by remortgaging with us. You may be able to reduce your monthly repayments by securing a lower interest rate with us. We have a range of both discounted and fixed rate mortgage products to suit a variety of personal circumstances.
With self-employment becoming a popular option for modern workers, we understand that a more modern approach to mortgages is needed. Unlike some lenders, we don't use the traditional 'tick box' approach when calculating affordability. At Furness, real people assess all mortgage applications and make a decision based on your individual circumstances, so we will often consider cases that other lenders won't.

Furness building society insist that you apply for Probate if someone passes away and their account holds more than £15,000, even if the money is being transferred to a spouse. Probate will cost a minimum of £215 and it will take at least 6 weeks. At a time when people are at their most vulnerable, Furness Building Society insist that you incur unnecessary costs and delays. Other banks and building societies allow you to withdraw the money without getting probate. Aging or ill account holders may want to consider using another Bank or Building Society.

Iconic building in the centre of Barrow. Easy to find with both the railway station and bus stops across the road. Parking is a short distance.

Opened an account for my grandson and he was promised a money box.. nothing major but as he is 5 he was all excited.. Numerous phone calls later and numerous ‘ someone will call you back’ but didn’t spoke to someone yet again today.. explained the issue and then he proceeded to talk about me not receiving a pass book! Honestly no wonder people do internet banking .. a local company that should be encouraging young savers and all they have done is make me wish we hadn’t bothered and gone with a national society/bank.. Now awaiting a call back but wont be holding my breath
