John Mackay & Son Locksmiths was established in Glasgow in 1878 as blacksmith and locksmith, we have specialised in the locksmith industry through 5 generations of the Mackay family. From our original base in Cambridge Street, then Buccleuch Street to our current day premises on Elmbank Street, we have evolved alongside an ever changing Glasgow and kept close to the heart of the city.

John Mackay & Son Locksmiths are ideally placed to offer many services from antiques through to the highest security locks for today's needs. There is not much that we haven't seen, opened, fitted or serviced. We are also certificated Yale Doormaster Experts, which means we have been fully trained, and have to meet high standards of knowledge and professionalism.

We have a large Selection of blanks and using the latest key cutting technology can duplicate an extensive range of all types of keys, even when the original key has been lost or broken. Keys cut by hand for all types of antique locks. Take the hassle out of lost keys and broken locks in an around the office.

Had to recently get 20 keys cut at short notice. Called John at Mackay locksmiths and he was able to sort it out for me. Great service.

Terrible service. I called the shop to make sure someone is there as I needed a set of key to cut. Mr Mackay advised me to come in the morning, at 9:30 when he opens the shop. I arrived a few minutes earlier then I waited until 10 am - he was still a no show. This not how you run a business. :(
