Services
Lonsdales buy and recycle all types and grades of ferrous metal - from light and mixed iron, steel and general metals, including engines, new cuts, low phosphor and shearing. We provide free skips, ro-ros and/ or bins (subject to a minimum weight/ value of material for collection) as part of our collection service.
In todays modern world many materials are recyclable. In addition to metal recycling we can offer our customers recycling solutions for other bulk materials such as paper, cardboard and wood in order to minimise waste and divert from landfill as much as possible. Cardboard is one of the largest items of waste generated by businesses.
We are competitive buyers of equipment, plant and machinery from all sectors for either scrap, resale or parts. We can provide labour to dismantle machinery that is to be scrapped or broken for parts on the premises before moving which may help reduce transport costs and help you achieve maximum value.
Householders: completed a DIY project, had a clear out of the garden shed, aluminium window frames (without glass), household electrical cable (except low grade telephone cable) and many other metal products. Trades: bring us metal from a gas/ electrical refit or general plumbing and electrical work.
Lonsdales was established in 1926 as W.A. Lonsdale & Son trading as scrap metal merchants in Walsall. Now a fourth generation family business Lonsdales has been on its present site since 1959 and has been a limited company under its present name since 1974. Early days saw large volumes of rags and woollens being purchased as well as metal.
