Price Bros. is a family-run business specialising in heavy, light commercial & domestic vehicle engine repair & rebuild. Air conditioning systems are an integral part of most modern motor vehicles and unlike the refrigerator or freezer in your home, their efficiency can deteriorate over a period of time as they are not running constantly.
Once stripped down, engine components are subjected to pressures well in excess of normal operating limits and then thoroughly tested to conform to specified engine running temperatures. We have the most up-to-date diagnostic equipment to pinpoint any faults in your car as quickly and accurately as possible.

Services
Price Brothers are an automotive engineering company having over thirty years experience in engine technology. Price Brothers specialise in heavy/light commercial and domestic engine repair including agricultural tractors and stationary engines in Bristol, the Avon Valley, Keynsham, Portishead, Weston-Super-Mare, Chipping Sodbury and Thornbury.
The cylinder block comprises the main body of the engine. Due to the constant, reciprocating action of the pistons the cylinder bores can become worn over time. Piston and bore damage can also occur if the engine has been excessively over-heated or poor atomisation of fuel. If damage or wear has been caused to your cylinders we can rebore your engine and supply oversize pistons (assuming availability).
In an engine the cylinder head sits above the cylinders on top of the engine block. If your engine has overheated or had a cooling system failure it could crack or distort the cylinder head. If your cylinder head is removed we would always recommend a pressure test as a cracked head can be the cause or a symptom of overheating.
A common problem that can occur when replacing parts on a vehicle is broken bolts and studs. However if you have a broken bolt/stud we are able to remove them using multiple methods. These methods vary greatly and it depends on how and where a bolt is broken as to how we will attempt to remove it. We may be able to remove it using an extractor however if we are unable to remove it that way we may be able to drill the bolt/stud.
With any engine, it is important to make sure that it works flawlessly at its highest output. At Price Bros Engineering, we strip down every engine to subject each component to pressures in excess of its normal working limits and at above-normal temperatures. We used highly-specialised jigs to examine each component in minute detail during and after testing and document the results of every part of the test.

They have brought my air conditioning back to life in my 15 yrs old Jaguar , after spending many hours of testing & changing many components ...As good as new now and I'm very pleased with the result . Would happily recommend them to anyone with similar problems to overcome .....Well done all of you

Possibly not the biggest job for them this month but it was a HUGE job for me personally. Price Bros got my motorbike back on the road by removing a problematic bolt stud deep in the frame - from despair to sorted. Huge thanks to the team, and a pleasure to deal with. Reading the google reviews was one of the things that prompted me to pick up the phone, so I'm glad to add another for them. Highly recommended.

As this garage was highly recommended I decided to give them a go. I needed the timing chain replaced which is a big job. From the outset the guys were very helpful and kept me informed on what stage they were at. They are very thorough and I knew my car was in safe hands.
My Mazda 3 has been looked after by genuine people and would not hesitate to use them again. A big thanks to Chris for all your help

Shockingly expensive.
The most expensive tap service I have ever come across. No mention of the travelling expenses incurred before hand.
No call out fee just charged full hourly rate for travel at nearly £80 and hour each way plus VAT.
Should of bought a a second hand item in hindsight.
Amazed at the expense we have just incurred to tap a thread.
All though he did managed to tap the thread which is better than none.

I had a remanufactured engine and new clutch fitted on my 1998 VW T4.
I would recommend Price Brothers for their thoroughness and highly skilled and precision work.
The price I thought was fair for the job and Chris managed to get a new flywheel ring gear as the old one had some teeth missing, so they look to see if anything else needs doing whilst it's in bits and always asks first if it's what you want. This is the place to go if you want proper motor engineering work done.
