I founded Amanda Patton Landscape & Garden Design at the beginning of 2000 as a natural progression from 20 or so years as a professional illustrator following a degree in Textile Design (nurturing in me an appreciation of colour, touch and texture). Initially I worked in archaeology (I worked with all of Time Team before they were famous!) but I soon started illustrating gardening books as well as my interest in the subject developed.
I've illustrated about 80 books in total, including all but one of Alan Titchmarsh's gardening titles. I create large country gardens, smaller bespoke gardens and outside spaces of all shapes and sizes that will make you feel good but I also want to make sure your garden works for you, and that it adds real and lasting value to your home.

Amanda visualised my garden in a way that I hadn't been able to. She took what I saw as a fairly standard space and developed ideas and designs that were not just interesting, but made everything flow together far better. Best of all - the plants were all chosen to follow through from the decoration of my house - hot pink injections indoors will soon be complemented by hot pink flowers. Lovely!
