Services
The Merchant House provides expertise in stone. From external stonework, such as sandstone cladding, through to creating unique, resilient worktops and surfaces in bespoke designs and sizes, we are masonry specialists. We source our high-quality materials from around the world. Once they have been delivered to our workshop near Chester, our products are designed and cut to your exacting specifications.
We receive regular deliveries from our various suppliers. The slabs of stone are brought in by wagon and stored in our factory until we are ready to cut them. The polished slabs are initially extracted from 20-tonne rock, using a gang saw to shape the stone. Each 20-tonne mineral sample can provide 50 slabs of material.

We purchased three quartz worktop pieces, as well as a centre island which also invloved working around an existing central heating boiler, with a piece of countertop that needed to be removeable. I did have my doubts that it could be done succesfully, however the finish is better than I could have hoped.
Even when they hit a slight problem with the counter backs, they found a solution and again it looks excellent. The price was competitive, with great fitters and excellent communication. You cannot ask for more from a company.
