Woodchurch House provide accommodation and nursing care for residents in studio and one bedroom suites. The home is divided into two social groups, one for physical frailty and the other for people with dementia/mental illness. Full 24 hour nursing care is available for all residents, which enables most people to be accommodated within the scheme for life.

Residents' spouses can also be accommodated, so that couples can stay together even when one develops the need for on-going care. One of the philosophies at the heart of Woodchurch House is to provide relationship-centred care. Fostering and nurturing relationships between residents, their family and friends and the healthcare professionals who work in and visit the home is an integral part of residents' care.
Services
The care suites provide residents with much more space than nursing home bedrooms, but with the same level of nursing care and support. At Woodchurch, some of the care suites are specially for dementia sufferers who would otherwise need to move into a traditional EMI nursing home. Social space with comfortable seats so that residents' families and friends can spend good quality time together in privacy and comfort.
The facilitation of people's rights underpins everything we do. Our ethos is to promote access to opportunities and to empower individuals to live as independently as possible in the way that they choose. This is reflected in our policies and the way that we conduct our operations day to day.

We promote all the fundamental freedoms, such as the right to freedom of expression, the right to a private and family life, the right to live without discrimination, and the right to liberty. These principles are enshrined in the Human Rights Act and other laws, which have been designed to protect us all and provide us with freedoms many of us take for granted.
We have adopted "relationship centred care" as our principal approach to care provision and so we seek to integrate this into all aspects of our operations, with the aim of building stronger relationships between residents, staff, relatives, friends, etc.

The concept of Relationship Centred Care takes the well established concept of Person Centred Care one step further with the recognition that to enable residents to be happy and fulfilled, we need to understand their past and present relationships with others. It is not just their relationships with staff that are important but also their relationships with family members and other care professionals.
Everyone rightly expects care staff to provide residents with care, companionship and stimulation which is personalised to their needs. However, it can be very difficult for staff to fulfil this expectation unless we in turn provide individualised support to staff and genuinely empower them to listen to, facilitate and encourage the residents.
Woodchurch House Nursing Home is committed to running the home in the best interests of the residents. The Home has been established with a quality orientated approach to the businesss with a high degree of quality awareness developed through all levels of staff training and management.

To this end a pro-active approach is taken to introduce quality systems that incorporate audits and feedback so that every part of the home and its services can be evaluated to ensure improvements are continuous. Each month a Quality Consultant visits Woodchurch House Nursing Home to audit all areas of the home.

Report
My mum entered this place 3 years ago to be safe. How wrong we all was.
Left alone to have falls and they cover each others backs. May be even report you for bruises caused by them!
If you love your parents please NEVER take them here. Worst mistake ever made. Her last months will just be constant pain. I can only pray that one day their parents have to go through this extremely painful episode the same as us.
A job well done !!
