David qualified in Manchester University in 1980. He opened Gwaun cae Gurwen Dental Practice in 1985 and developed the practice to its present five surgeries. David provides general dentistry and also has a contract to provide domiciliary ( Home) services to those patients who are unable to attend the practice.
Having graduated from Cardiff Dental school (2014), Sid undertook vacational training in Penclawdd. He later gathered more experience whilst working as a Maxillofacial SHO in Morriston. During this time he complated the MJDF qualification (Royal College of Surgeons, London) and is a member of the BDA South West Wales group.
As well as providing an effective repair for tooth decay or damage, composite (or white) fillings are also a natural-looking alternative to more obvious amalgam fillings. This is because they are made from tooth-coloured resin; a mixture of plastic and glass that blends in beautifully with your teeth.
Root canal therapy (or endodontics) involves removing infected pulp from the innermost part of the tooth. This prevents the infection from spreading and can help save a tooth that may otherwise have to be extracted. The pulp is made up of soft tissue, including nerves and blood vessels, and extends from the crown to the tips of the root.
More room is needed for successful orthodontic treatment or to ensure new dentures fit properly. We take an x-ray and assess your teeth to ascertain the best method of removal, which will either be a simple extraction or a surgical extraction. A simple extraction is performed on a tooth that is visible in the mouth.

My wife and I visit our dentist and dental practice on a regular occurrence to try and keep our teeth and mouth healthy. Next year will be our 30th year with this dentist and dental practice and both my wife and I am most certainly pleased with the service we have received over this period both as NHS and private patients. I am pleased to call most of the staff my friends and have seen them grow into an incredible professional business and family. They adapt and change has daily challenges have come and gone, even to my Gulf War Illness and the current Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic with the utmost

My son has autism, he's 8. He has extreme panic attacks if he has to go to doctors or hospital, so sadly an emergency appointment was made as he refuses to brush his teeth and gets really upset which led to a very bad tooth affecting the gums. With the patience of an amazing team, calm clean and quiet surroundings, he let them remove his bad tooth, thank you so much, your compassion was amazing and thanks to you all, this positive experience will help his future visits if needed. We had no meltdown and i didn't leave in tears, thank-you.
