I have visited this store many times over the last 15 years and have enjoyed shopping for gifts etc. Today I was looking for a birthday card for my sister. Frankly I was disgusted by the crude and tasteless nature of some of the cards displayed. The subject matter was vulgar and explicit. Who thought that these cards were a good idea? Rye is an elegant town and by stocking this rubbish, Penny Royal lets itself down.
Needless to say, I didn't find anything suitable and went next door to the book shop who stock a really good selection of cards for all occasions.
