Established in 1968, we are a long-standing and well-respected pre-school within the Woodside Park area of North London. We are situated in the leafy, lush grounds of Old Finchleians Sports Club and are fortunate to be able to access the large playing fields and ample car parking space, which has plenty of room for parents to drop off their children safely.
Our Pre-school operates Monday to Friday during term time and is open from 8.30am to 3.00pm each day. We are within easy walking distance of Woodside Park underground station and close to numerous bus routes. The Pre-school serves the Woodside Park, Finchley, Totteridge and Whetstone areas of London.

Services
One of our key aims is to foster strong relationships with our families so that each child's individual learning style and talents are recognised and supported well as we work together. Every child is allocated a key person who provides engaging and enriching learning opportunities, through play, to help develop each child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Our qualified staff create a friendly and warm environment ensuring every individual child's needs are met. Creating positive relationships through play and enhanced learning, our wonderful staff are key to the success of Southover Preschool. With positive leadership from our experienced nursery manager, our staff team is committed to creating a healthy, happy environment for all our children.
Our curriculum is overseen by our Manager and Curriculum Leader (who is an ex-Early Years Inspector) who takes part in the day to day running of the nursery and brings a wealth of experience to enhance the skills of our children. We follow a broad-based curriculum to ensure each individual child is supported and has a variety of opportunities to learn and develop in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Breakfast consists of a choice of cereals, toast with butter and cheese spread and either milk or water to drink. The morning session starts with 'free play' where children can choose what activities they would like to do based on the EYFS seven areas of learning. Children can also play outside once all the children have arrived.
Run by a qualified French teacher who teaches them basic French words, phrases, songs, rhymes and counting. Our French teacher has a great deal of experience working with pre-school children and knows how to gain and hold their attention. We offer a Movement and Drama session which has proved very popular with the children.

My son attended Southover for 2 years and he has never been so happy. Mrs Sayed is a gem of a Head Teacher, with a very warm attitude towards the children. My wife and I were very happy. Friendly atmosphere for children to spend time. A great setting and I will highly recommend Southover Pre-School.
