Services
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function - through exercise, manual therapy, education and advice - when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. We treat all types of musculoskeletal (msk) aches and pains, which can often be brought on by the demands of everyday life such as carrying shopping bags, carrying children or gardening plus the more general wear and tear on our bodies as we get older.
Shock wave therapy, (ESWT), is a non-evasive procedure which is clinically proven in the treatment of chronic soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries. Shockwaves are pulses or acoustic sound waves that are targeted at the problem area from a hand-held probe. Shockwaves work by stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and nerves while breaking down scar tissue, which can be a significant issue in chronic conditions.
A specialised deep tissue massage that aims to alleviate exercise related muscle pain. Massage can be very useful for minor sports related injuries, over exertion or help with the niggling injuries that often happen whilst training for a specific event, such as running a marathon. Sports massage can also be useful for postural aches and pains brought on by long hours sitting at a desk or using a computer.
No, the great thing about Chartered Physiotherapist's is that they are qualified to diagnose and if necessary, they can start treating you straight away! We are registered with all the major Health Insurers and we would advise you to contact your Insurance company before you book an appointment with us.
I have been a client for some thirty years now, happily so. It was such a shame to lose David and I have to admit to being apprehensive on my first consultation with Alex. My fears were quickly proved unfounded and he has skilfully and effectively treated a long-standing problem. He is thorough, considerate and most of all personable, great assets to have when dealing with people who aren't feeling great!

Very little effort made to diagnose the root cause of my sore back resulting in provision of inappropriate treatment. Hobbled out in more pain than I was in when I walked in, days added to my recovery. Would not recommend.

Professional atmosphere, good treatment.
This was my first visit to any physio, so I don't have much to compare it to. I attended in April 2018, and calling around 12.30pm was able to make a next day appointment after suffering a severe and sudden condition. The physio I saw (Alex Dickinson) was punctual and thorough, first investigating the injury and taking careful notes, followed by treatment. He also discussed another, older injury I had, and quickly ran through a program of exercises for both injuries. The half hour appointment was enough to quickly achieve all this, and cost 42 pounds, which
