Services
DHKK Ltd was formed by merger of the long-standing Edinburgh practices of Dixon Heaney and Kean Kennedy in 2008 and can trace its roots back to the 1940s. The firm operates across central Scotland as a general practice firm of Chartered Surveyors, with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Kirkcaldy. It provides a range of property-related professional services, with survey and residential valuation acting as a core function of the business.
Energy Performance Certificates or EPCs have been required by law in the UK for new property transactions (whether sales or leases) since 2009. In more recent years the use of these certificates has widened to include the application process for public funds through schemes such as the Feed-In Tariff scheme (FITs) or the Green Deal.
An Energy Performance Certificate is a document generated to provide an energy efficiency rating for a property. The rating calculated will range from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). The Certificate also gives guidance on the environmental impact rating of the building. EPCs generated for existing buildings additionally list recommended measures to reduce fuel use and increase efficiency.
DHKK's valuation surveyors are fully-qualified (MRICS or FRICS) and are accredited members of the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme. They have a wealth of local knowledge that permits them to value with accuracy. The reports that they produce are fully independent and without influence. The firm's excellent claims history is testament to their professionalism and the high level of service delivered.
