Stanford Williams Accountants is a family owned accounting practice run by Rhi and Paul, supported by a friendly and professional team. It has enjoyed consistent growth since its incorporation in 2011, when Rhi set up a little office in the dining room of their home. People seemed to like Rhi's informal approach to what is, after all, a pretty dull and technical area of running a business and as clients referred our services, the business grew.
Paul joined a year later and since then we moved to offices in Blackwood High Street and employ three other qualified accountants and a trainee accountant. Rhian is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has been working in practice for twenty years. In that time, she has had to count heifers, value billiard tables and audit investments in Bermuda. Rhian leads the firm's delivery of tax, accounts and audit services.

We have been watching the market for cloud based accounting systems develop over the last three or four years. In our opinion, these have been either clunky and not very user friendly or overly developed and quite fussy - but all were very expensive for the benefit they offered. We spent a lot of time trialling some of the newer cloud based solutions.
The intention is that both you and HMRC are able to see your tax position in 'real time' and you will be able to 'pay as you go' rather than paying one big bill payable by nine months after the end of the tax year. It does mean that those of you who are currently keeping manual books will have to look to use software to keep your books up to date to allow you to file your returns on line to HMRC.
