Welcome to our school website and thank you for taking the time to find out what our school is all about. Templeton Community Primary School is situated in the small village of Templeton in Pembrokeshire, between Narberth and Kilgetty. It serves a small rural catchment area, which includes Templeton and Cold Blow.
The school is located at the top of the village, enjoys an extremely positive, friendly and welcoming ethos and provides quality education for everyone. There are 108 pupils aged four to eleven years in the school. The pupils are organised into four classes: Oak Class (Nursery and Reception), Chestnut Class (Year 1 and 2), Willow Class (Year 3 and 4) and Rowan Class (Year 5 and 6).

Services
We are very blessed to have such a committed, dedicated and talented team of staff who always put the children first and go that extra mile on a daily basis to make sure the children reach their potential. Their quality of work and wonderful pastoral support is of a very high standard and is frequently recognised and praised by visitors to our school.
A federated Governing Body exists for both Tavernspite and Templeton Schools. This federation has been so successful that it was the subject of an Estyn Best Practice research project on federation arrangements in 2017. The governing body is made up of governors from both schools. The Governing body meets termly to discuss a range of issues.
Templeton School was built in 1877 to cater for the needs of the village and outlying regions. The school underwent a complete refurbishment of buildings in 2000 when five new classrooms were constructed and many other areas of the school were rebuilt and greatly improved. This was done to accommodate the rising numbers from 72 in 1990 to 135 at its peak.
We are pleased to be able to share information with parents about Emotional Literacy Support (ELSA). The school's approach to emotional literacy support as a fundamental basis for education of the whole child is something we are extremely proud to offer.
ELSAs are not there to fix children's problems; they provide emotional support, encourage new skills and introduce coping strategies that allow children to manage their social and emotional demands more effectively.Children are usually referred for ELSA support by their class teacher but parents may request ELSA support for their child.

We love everything about learning and the new curriculum but we wanted to develop our own characters so that they suited and represented us, the children. To do this, we had a drawing competition and designed our own characters that we could identify with. Once we had voted for our favourite designs, they were made into digital images and now you can find them in our books and all around the school!
