I provide clients with a personal design service that is tailored to meet their needs. My aim is to maximise the potential of every space and place through well considered design. Through employing original solutions to some of the challenges that building presents, architecture can be affordable and accessible to everyone but it is also important to have realistic expectations from the outset of what is achievable with the budget available.
By taking a holistic approach to the design of buildings it should also be possible for all building projects to improve sustainability, both socially and environmentally. Now more than ever before it is our responsability to build as sustainably as possible and make choices that will help protect the future of the planet.

Housing is in short supply and there is a need to stimulate growth in the economy through the construction industry. The new planning laws which encourage the conversion of redundant agricultural buildings into exciting 21st century homes can help to do this. Buildings that would otherwise be very ordinary, poorly insulated and lacking in character can be revitalised by remodelling them to suit personal tastes and needs.
Some projects will require a feasibility study to determine whether it is viable before any in depth design work is started. Feasibility studies start with some site analysis to determine the suitability of a site for the project in question. Simple 3D models and diagrammatic drawings can then be used to present the information before doing basic layout work to test ideas.
Theo Green Designs Ltd was commissioned to design a replacement dwelling on a site close to Warminster. The clients requested a contemporary house which would take advantage of the sunlight on the site. The existing pool was to be kept and would play a key role in generating a strong link between indoors and outdoors.
We started work on this project in the summer of 2017 and construction has recently been completed. The brief was for an Oak framed extension for a thatched cottage in Bridport. The clients wanted to replace the conservatory and create a space that connected the house and garden. The extension needed to accommodate a new kitchen and dining area at ground floor and bedroom above.
This project is a replacement dwelling near Charmouth with west facing views over rolling hills towards the sea. Theo Green Designs were engaged by the clients in early 2015 to design a modest and highly sustainable replacement house. The fabric of the existing building was in a poor condition and not suitable for renovation or conversion therefore replacing the dwelling was the best solution.
