We stayed for one night on 27th November. The reception staff were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The room was small for a double and reeked of the odour of fresh paint. The door didn't fit properly allowing light and noise to flood in.
The hotel was also hosting a wedding reception, the disco was so loud the floor was vibrating. It seemed like the DJ was directly underneath us. Having booked directly with the hotel via email only a few weeks before they had ample opportunity to tell us and then allow us to make a decision accordingly. This didn't happen.

Had a really nice lunch. Quiet and sat in the atrium, which was beautiful.
Had to choose something else as wasn't available and settled on the hunters chicken. It was really tasty. The person I came in with had a burger which he liked he just mentioned the party was quite thing and a bit well done. Chips were amazing though.
Went to have pudding but again the one I chose wasn't there. So we decided to leave it. Staff were really friendly and genuinely apologetic. Will definitely come again.

Stayed in room number 124 downstairs. Was woken at 2,45am by a member of staff hoovering outside our room. Then at 7am two members of staff talking loudly outside our room. No staff about the night before when we got back from a party at midnight. Was knocking for about ten minutes. Had to call their landline in the end to get their attention. Went for breakfast at 8.45am. There was only one young man in the restaurant. He was working so hard alone. I said to him there is no milk no coffee and no tea spoons. He sorted everything out for us. I said where are the rest of the staff. He said it's just

We received a warm welcome to this charming, cosy, comfortable and characterful hotel. Our room had a lovely large bed (Room 110) for a great night's sleep, with a pristine bathroom. The traditional Sunday roast was delicious and breakfast was hearty and generous.
The staff are diligent and attentive, without being overbearing or fussy. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. There's lots of choice of places to sit and linger in the spacious ground floor.
Very happy to recommend 🙂
