Leicester Driver Training was founded by head instructor, Carl Browett. Carl has over 12 years experience as a HGV driving instructor. He has successfully trained hundreds of students in the art of driving Heavy Goods Vehicles, cars & vans with trailers and coaches. Many of Carl's students now work for the UK's largest companies, delivering goods across the country.
One of the most common questions we get asked is how much does HGV (LGV) training cost? And rightly so. We all want to make sure what we spend our hard earned money on is high quality and will benefit us in the future. HGV (LGV) brokers act as a middleman. They offer HGV training services and then outsource the training to a HGV training centre.
This cat B+E training course is ideal for any driver who needs to tow a trailer up to 3,500kg. Any person with a valid driving licence and is 17 years of age or older can take this course. Exceptions can apply so it's best to check your driving licence before towing a trailer. Typically, if your want to tow a heavier trailer, you will need to pass the category B+E driving test.
The category C training course is perfect for anyone wanting to drive a large rigid vehicle weighing over 7,500kg. The main difference between the two licences is the weight of the vehicle you can drive. Leicester Driver Training Ltd's category C training prices start from 1045 for 16 hours of HGV training.

On returning to HGV driving following an appeal from the government I rang round loads of driver training companies in the area for advice on the modules of CPC that I would need to do as I had passed my LGV test prior to the introduction of CPC. I had a lot of conflicting information and a lot of huge quotes to get myself up to speed and back on the road. I called Leicester Driver Training and spoke to Carl and he was just so straightforward and confirmed the modules I would need, how to book them myself to keep costs down and then he took me through my final part (CPC Module 4) with ease. Carl is 100% best instructor I'v had and I passed👌. Carl doesn't mess around and tells you to get on with it. He has a no nonsense attitude and if you make a mistake he makes sure you won't again. He even gives you a full lesson of driving and plenty of experience and advice and knowledge.
I did a 5 day course ( Class 2) with Carl and every day was consistant 4 hours of driving with more driving and test on 5th day.
It's the driving experience you need to pass and Carl gives you that. Thank you Carl 100% can't fault you.

Just passed my cat C today first time thanks to Carl! An excellent, well-equipped company with a patient and intuitive trainer who can get even the most hesitant drivers to a professional standard. Had a very major hiccup on my 2nd 4 hour lesson but Carl took this entirely in his stride and got me up to the standard needed in only 5 days. Get your training here, with a highly experienced trainer and at a great price, you will not regret it.
