Some vehicles have a different tyre size on the front to the tyre size on the back so it is a good idea to check a front and a back wheel. There is no guaranteed way of knowing what size tyres are on your vehicle without checking the tyre itself. Unfortunately just looking in your handbook or on certain websites that claim to be able to tell you your tyre size is not an accurate way of finding it.
Do not use tyres with a tread depth of less than 1.6mm. Apart from being illegal, tyres with low levels of tread will slide easily, suffer from extended braking distances and will be more susceptible to rupturing. In wet conditions the vehicle will aquaplane making braking and handling almost impossible.
