Our 3 principal service streams include Commercial Building Surveying, Project Consultancy and Residential Surveying Services. We work for Investment Funds, Property Managers, High Street retailers, food store retailers, developers, contractors, charitable trusts and private individuals. All of our staff backgrounds at senior levels in large multi-disciplinary property consultancies, smaller practices and Local Government Agencies.

With offices in Liverpool and London we serve our clients on a national basis with our surveyors operating throughout the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Mann. Our philosophy is to provide all of our clients, large or small with professional, pragmatic and commercially aware property advice. In 2018, after over 30 years of service to the property and construction industry, David Stevens retired.

When buying, selling, occupying or funding a property, it is important that you fully understand the condition of the property as well as understanding the initial on ongoing liabilities prior to purchase. Alternatively, you may already occupy a building and have concerns about the condition in general, a particular defect or are considering undertaking alterations to the premises.
Building Reinstatement Cost Assessments are required to establish the cost of rebuilding a property in the event of a total loss, this is usually a requirement of your buildings insurance. Buildings must be insured to cover the full cost of demolition and rebuilding, together with any other allowances for professional fees.

Peacock Stevens were appointed to act as party wall surveyor in a house renovation I was completing. Peter Gadbury (London office) was slow and pedantic causing delays to the project. He questioned numerous elements that fell out with his expertise and the Party Wall legislation. His bill was excessively large - charged at double the time and hourly rate to his counterpart Party Wall Surveyor. When queried he was reluctant to release his timesheets and one can see why.
He billed: 3.4hrs at £160p/hr for "Transfer of photos to CD", 1hr at £160p/hr for 3 short emails to me, and 5hrs at £160p/hr
