We have a dedicated team of managers, carers, kitchen and support staff who strive to support the independence, choice and preferred lifestyles of all residents in our care. Our aim is to support the independence, choice and preferred lifestyles of all residents in a homely, stable and Christian environment.
We have written a series of articles on The History of St. Christopher's Care Home Northampton. As part of our series of articles on the History of St. Christopher's, we look at the history of the Old Rectory. The Old Rectory The Reverend Matthew William Frederic Thursby, who was born in 1821, became Rector of Abington in 1847 when he was twenty-six.
Volunteers are always welcome at St Christopher's, helping with practical activities, accompanying residents on mini bus trips, or simply spending time chatting, sharing and reminiscing with our residents. Volunteers have expressed how much they enjoy being with and caring for the elderly, not to mention the difference a regular visit can make to the residents, who love spending time with them.
Our approach to caring and our environment is very important to us and our residents. Every resident should have, wherever possible, received a pre-admission visit and assessment, which relatives are encouraged to attend if the resident so wish. Individual needs are discussed and clarified at this stage, and this information formulates the initial Care Plan for admission.
